On Friday, June 16th, I ventured into the Armstrong Lions Park to try my hand at a new scene.
I’ve visited this park numerous times and I’ve always loved this little spot. I knew I wanted to recreate it with my own style. It was a challenge because the weather wasn’t cooperating. Painting in the wind was definitely an interesting experience!
Rain or shine, the show goes on, and I’m very happy with the finished piece – it feels so magical!

I found a beautiful landscape to recreate near Otter Lake Road last weekend. It was relaxing to just enjoy the breeze and paint this piece. The piece isn’t an exact recreation of the scene, but more of the feeling of painting it. I’ll be trying out a similar landscape next week before returning to Armstrong…

On Saturday I revisited Maguire Lake Park in Salmon Arm to recreate another scene. This painting provided many opportunities for experimentation, namely with the reflection and fountain.
