On Saturday, June 24th, I ventured out to Maguire Lake Park in Salmon Arm. There are so many beautiful scenes to paint! It was raining pretty heavily, so I got started on the painting beneath a tree. Eventually it became too wet to continue, and I finished this piece in my studio.

On Saturday I revisited Maguire Lake Park in Salmon Arm to recreate another scene. This painting provided many opportunities for experimentation, namely with the reflection and fountain. I found a beautiful landscape to recreate near Otter Lake Road last weekend. It was relaxing to just enjoy the breeze and paint this piece. The piece isn’t an exact recreation of the scene, but more of the feeling of painting it. I’ll be trying out a similar landscape next week before returning to Armstrong…
