Join Laura at the Phoenix @ Play Gallery & Studio (2553 Pleasant Valley Blvd, Armstrong, BC) for this intermediate portraiture course.
You will receive one-on-one instruction and practice the skills needed to take your acrylic portrait paintings to the next level.
All art supplies will be provided, including aprons.

Agenda:
Day 1
Laura will assess your current level through pencil sketching. You’ll learn about the anatomy and perspective of a face, which creates the foundation of a successful portrait painting. This includes stylization.
Day 2
You’ll break out the paints, and learn about colour theory for portraits. Using the sketching skills from day one, you’ll do some painting studies and learn how to use shape language to construct a portrait.
Day 3
You’ll be guided through the entire process of creating a finished portrait using all the skills you learned. We’ll analyze the progress you made, and you’ll learn how to use these techniques to continue to improve your work.
